- Ways to use targeting to connect with local audiences
Designing Multilingual Surveys, Pop-Ups, Forms, and More
Before you can target visitors in different languages, you must create each variation of your form or survey that you plan to show. Let’s say you want to target visitors who speak English, French, or Spanish. In this case, you will need three versions of your forms.
First, create the English version of your form. In our case, this will be the default version that displays to users whose default language is anything other than Spanish or French.
Then, click the “duplicate” icon to quickly copy your form content and conditions to a new form.
Update the text and creative in your duplicated form to match the language you will target with this form. The example below shows a French form created from the English version above.
Repeat the duplication process for each form variation. In our case, we still need the Spanish version.
Okay, we’ve designed our forms. Now, let’s put them in front of the right people.
How to Set Up Targeting for Multilingual Forms
After you create each version of your form, set up the targeting for each form. This ensures that each visitor sees the form in the correct language.
Open the Conditions editor for one of your form variants and add a “language” rule. Select the language that matches your form content. Let’s start with the French version of our form.
Repeat this step for your other language variants, except for the form that you want to show by default. We want to display the English version to users who don’t specify French or Spanish in their browser, so we will not target this form to English speakers. Otherwise, visitors who don’t speak English, Spanish, or French would not see any form.
Finally, make sure that the default form appears below any other localized versions of the form in your list of Digioh forms.
Digioh displays forms in the order they appear in your list. If the default form is listed above the other versions of your form, Digioh will trigger this form to all visitors, and the forms in other languages will not appear.
You can test your targeting by changing your browser’s default language.

Using Browser Language Targeting to Localize Your Forms
With the ability to target site visitors based on their default language, you have a powerful way to improve your onsite experience.
Not only can you translate your form text for different languages, you can convey your calls-to-action in a way that matches your brand, no matter what languages your visitors speak.
Digioh’s browser language targeting also allows you to target a specific language/region combination. This ensures your forms match the regional variants of the languages your users speak too.
Here are just a few ways you can use browser language targeting to deliver the most relevant offers to your site visitors:
- If you offer newsletters in English and Spanish, you can promote the newsletter that matches your visitors’ language.
- Do you sell products available in different languages, such as books or T-shirts? Display discounts for products in your users’ language.
- Running a campaign for a regional holiday? Target users in that particular region, then use language targeting to further hone your promotions with friendly, festive copy in their chosen language.
